A Sedentary Lifestyle Can Result in Nausea and Vomiting

We all love sitting, especially after a long tiring day. But we all wish and love sitting all day. Well why shouldn’t we? It’s relaxing and calm. Yet after a certain point, our body starts reacting negatively towards it. Our body starts feeling stiff and our stomach starts bloating. It not only causes physical issues, but also mental issues. People start losing concentration and feel nauseated. Even if they don’t vomit, they have this constant sensation of vomiting.

What is Nausea?
Nausea is uneasiness felt it the upper abdomen which results in vomiting. We are all aware of the common causes of this weird feeling. Motion sickness, low blood sugar, migraine, depression and food poisoning, they all can be a reason for a person to feel nauseated.

Many people have reported feeling nauseated after long working hours in office. Long working hours here means the desk work. These works include constant eye on the computer screens. Working for hours at the desk affects your spinal cord and ends up with low blood circulation and oxygen flow.  Computers make it uncomfortable and stress your eyes. Stressed eyes develop giddy feeling. As I mentioned, giddiness has been a common reason for nausea and vomiting.

It is not possible to ditch your work for ditching a sedentary life, neither can one advice you to. But we have few tricks to win over nausea and vomiting.
Doctors have always advised us to keep moving even if it has no objective behind it. But we have overcoming nausea as an objective. Get up from that desk and move around for few minutes. Take the stairs every possible time. Or simply stop the work for few seconds and stretch your body. Drink plenty of water and keep yourself hydrated. Water is the go to option for everything. Doctors also advice us to keep ourselves indulged in some or the other physical activities like morning walks and Yoga. Don’t forget to take a 5 minutes break after an hour interval.  

If obesity was not enough a reason to kill sedentary life, nausea must be one.
